About Thameside Wines

Thameside Wines is a small independent wine merchant that prides itself on both its selection of wines for everyday drinking as well as its unrivalled stock of fine wines from the classic wine regions of both the old and new worlds.

Our retail shop stocks over 900 different wines – still, sparkling and fortified – as well as over 250 spirits and liqueurs.

Point of Difference

Our point of difference that we aim to stock wines that you will not usually find on the shelves of the high street shops and supermarkets, many of which are from small producers who do not make enough wine to sell to the multiples, but who rely on independents such as ourselves to showcase their wines.

The criteria for selecting wines for Thameside are that they should be enjoyable to drink and offer value for money. This allows wines of all prices and all styles to be stocked and you will find an unrivalled selection of wines from around the world on our shelves.

Fine Wine Stock

Our ‘Fine Wine’ stock is comprised of some of the best wines from the classic wine regions. We have wines from all the top vineyards in the Medoc, Pomerol and St. Emilion, as well as some from the smaller ‘garage’ wineries in Bordeaux that have sprung up over the last ten years.

We also have a small selection of wines from Burgundy and other fine wine areas. Almost our entire fine wine stock is kept in specialist temperature controlled storage (we do stock a small selection in our air-conditioned shop in Putney) and is therefore only usually available to order. In some instances we are prepared to sell less than a full case and if you are interested, please ask for details.
